WE ARE RECORDING A LIVE ALBUM AND DVD!!!! 

That’s right my people, Quincy Mumford and the Reason Why are recording a Live album and dvd. This is the cool part…You can be apart of it by just buying a ticket and seeing the live show! We are calling it, Quincy Mumford and the Reason Why - LIVE at The Saint!

So here is the deal; 3 shows of the coarse of 2 days @ THE SAINT in Asbury Park, NJ: 

MARCH 2nd (Friday) - 8:00pm 18+

MARCH 3rd (Saturday)- 3:00pm ALL AGES!

A big reason why we are putting on these shows is to raise money for two great organizations, SURFRIDER FOUNDATION and CLEAN OCEAN ACTION. All of the tickets sold for this show will be directly handed over to these great organizations. We will also being doing tons of raffles, in which you can win anything from a Spellbinders gift card, to a surf board, to a guitar. We want to do everything we can to help these guys out, so they can keep our Jersey waters clean, our beaches spotless, and wildlife preserved.

As you may or may not know, the band and I just recently got back from a long week in Vermont, where we did nothing but work on music for this live album. We were also filming our experience up there as a band. The DVD will be almost like a small documentary on The Reason Why and putting this show together but with a ton of live footage to really make it great. We are tighter then ever, and these are shows you definitely do not want to miss! 

You can be apart of a few shows that will last forever on a CD and a DVD. Not only that, but be apart of a great cause to raise money for some great organizations.

Hello my people.

So I have some exciting news. Over the summer I decided to get together with my band, The Reason Why, in the studio to record some songs.  Not just anything, but a live in the studio session, with all acoustic instruments.  Travis and I played acoustic, Karlee on melodica, Jeff on djembe, and Brian on an old 60’s Gibson bass.
I wanted to give my fans something a little more special when it comes to our music.  So I got the idea to rerelease my latest album “Speak”, with four live acoustic tracks.  I am super stoked that we did it live.  You can really feel the passion and energy coming off of the tracks.  We were all locked in with each other, no discractions, no stress, just pure fun like how we always do it.  The tracks came out great and we are ready to release it to the world! A brand new song, “Madeline” is one of the four new songs. So I have some pretty cool news. As this album is starting to wind down and we are getting closer and closer to being done, it has become that time to start creating music videos! I have teamed up with my ever so talented brother (Kyle Mumford) to create magic through a video art form.

Doing music videos are not the most exciting and easy process, well for me anyway. They take a lot of time and patience, well I guess any kind of acting does, I give actors a lot of credit.  I know first hand how long that process is after being in my brother’s feature film (His Naked Mind) two summers ago. What makes things a little easier is the fact that I get to work with my brother.

In one of the new videos, we are shooting it with mostly all stop animation. Talk about losing your mind, you have to move a little, take a shot, move a little, take a shot, sooooooo frustrating but looks so awesome after you are done! This takes a long time to film because you can only move so little/much in one day. The other video we are shooting next week involves a beard but I’m not going to get to much into it, you will just have to guess and see for yourself!

Not only are these music videos going to be the latest on the Quincy Mumford Youtube page, but also there will be a weekly webisode leading up to the release of the new album.  This webisode series is call MumfTv and even more webisode after the album release!

The videos are actually pretty random, they go anywhere from skating around to local spots, to raw studio footage from the new album, to backstage and onstage at shows with The Reason Why. You get to be up close and personal with my band and I and see all the crazy things we do.

Although I am still a little while away from finishing this 3rd album, I thought that I would give some of my fans an update on how things are going.

First off, if you liked the last two records, you are going to really like this one! I am really excited about it! Most of the songs on this record are very upbeat, funky, and groovin for sure. I wrote a ton of songs before going into the process of this record. I weeded a lot of them out, and found a small bunch of 10 songs that are really killer.

What is also really killer about this record is that the lyrical content is far beyond the last two. I got the chance to really express myself and write songs and stories that I believe will really relate to the listeners who want to interpret it in there own way. Every song has a strong meaning and power behind it.

This album is more me as an artist then any other project I have done before. This album has so many different awesome musical feels to it. It goes anywhere from singer/songwriter to motown to funk to reggae to borderline rhythmic hip hop.

I am really stoked on this record and I know you guys will be to when you hear it. We are looking at a spring time release so stay tuned for early releases, music videos, giveaways, and webisodes.
