Just wanted to give you all an update on what’s going on in the world of The Reason Why. So as you may know, recently we recorded a live album and DVD. As of yesterday the album was sent to be mastered, and the DVD is being edited. The Live at The Saint DVD includes footage from the concert shot with multiple cameras, interviews with the band, scenic cinematography and a documentary featuring myself and the band’s musical getaway and adventure in the mountain’s of Vermont! Pretty dope, right?
Live at The Saint, will be released on May 25th! To celebrate the release, we will be performing live at Mcloone’s Supper Club in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The physical copy of this live album and DVD will be available for the first time that night! We are calling the show, “Calm Before The Storm”. We will be performing 2 sets; one acoustic set (calm) in which Quincy and the band will tell the inspiration behind some of their songs and memorable stories from the road. The second set (the storm) will be a full on raging electric set, in which everyone will be encouraged to stand up and make their way to the dance floor. You get the best of both worlds, the calm and the storm!
One more thing before I go…We need 2 seconds of your time to help us get to GATHERING OF THE VIBES!!

Until then, keep it Lifted! Much love, q-mumf
Happy Holidays
Hello to the people. How are you all doing today? I hope you guys are enjoying the holidays and are in the festive mood! December is my favorite time of year, not just because there is Christmas and New Years, but also my birthday :) … and more importantly being around my family. Everyone just seems to be in a better mood this time of year. My family are not the type of people to make some kind of crazy light display on our house, in fact we don’t put up any lights! But…we are pretty dam proud of our Christmas tree, this year it’s looking dope.
So this year, I actually will not be spending the holidays at home. By home, I mean in the States! This year I will be spending my Christmas and New Years in Sweden! I am so stoked! Of coarse I will miss my family, but it should be nice to have a white Christmas for once! I can’t wait, I know it is going to be one hell of a time. It will be nice to see some family and friends. Hopefully I will be back on the radio in Kalmar and do another live broadcast. Maybe even play an American Christmas song!
Looking back on this year, I start to remember a lot of good times, laughs, and adventures. I am glad to hold some of these fun, exciting, and just plain crazy memories. I am so grateful to have such loving and supporting people around me. I don’t think that I thank these people enough, and I really want to show them that I appreciate everything they do. So…as part of my New Years Resolution, I am going to recongnize and thank everyone more often for completing these acts of kindness. Now I just need to figure out the rest of my resolution! What is your New Years Resolution? Tell me on TWITTER!
So I need some help from you all. It has become that time of year again where 90.5 The Night (WBJB) counts down the top 100 albums of the year! I am apart of that list with my latest album Speak. YOU can help bring it to number 1!!! All you have to do is just click HERE , scroll down 1/3 of the way, and just click 4 stars under Speak by QUINCY MUMFORD & THE REASON WHY. Thank you so much for the support and your listening ears!
Happy Holidays to you all :)

New Jams
So, I have been listening to a really cool artist lately. Some of you will know him and some will not. He goes by the name of Brett Dennen! He has been around for a while now, but it was not until recently that I stated listening to him. He is a killer song writer! Check out the video below of a song called “Ain’t No Reason”. I have been putting this song on repeat for a week now. Awesome feel, lyrics, music, and imagery. Let me know what you think of Brett!
Enjoy!

LIFTED APPAREL
Some of you may know, and some of you may not know at all, but I started a clothing company last year called Lifted Apparel. The idea came into my mind a long time ago. I’m not talking about the name, but the idea to create some cool and comfortable clothing for people to wear. I have actually always wanted to do this for as long as I can remember. I had a dream to start with soft goods and move on to outerwear and eventually snowboards. Crazy I know, but you have to set your goals high!
So now I am about 2/10th’s of the way there. I started to print some t-shirts to get the process going. I came up with the name “Lifted Apparel” after naming my business LLC, Lifted Enterprises. The name “Lifted” came from a song of mine, off of my second album, South Edgemere. I wanted to show people another artistic side of me. Although I don’t design all of the shirts with my artwork, I do hand pick the artist to draw the images, and I come up with all of the concepts behind the images and the colors. I will say that some of the t-shirts and hoodies coming out in the future will feature some of my art. You may have seen some of my artwork before, just check out any of my album covers!
I am very much into graffiti and psychedelic styles. One of my favorite
artist’s is a good friend of mine, Jay Alders (jayalders.com). Check him out, he is a huge inspiration and someone I look up to as an overall human being! You’re the man, Jay! The company is very small right now, but it is just the beginning. I asked my brother, Kyle Mumford to join me as a partner in the company. He has a very creative mind and the ability to create some pretty dope designs. He even does his own silk screen printing! We plan to release a lot more products this up coming year. I’m talking, more sunglasses, creative and colorful tee’s, hoodies, beanies, and more! If you are into companies such as, Volcom, Billabong, Burton, and Ruca, you will definitely dig Lifted. For now, check out some of my latest Lifted products below, and stay tuned for more!
I just wanted to throw the love out to WBJB 90.5 The Night. This radio station is awesome! I have known the DJ’s at this station for a long time, and they have always had my back. I remember when I first started playing out at open mic’s, before I made my first album, one of the DJ’s from 90.5 was working at the bar where I was playing. Just before I released my first album, I made sure he got a copy. Ever since, they have been playing and supporting my music on the radio station. Much appreciated, thanks guys!
So… some other pretty awesome news. I just started a radio campaign, across the US, not too long ago, and it seems like we are doing pretty well. A bunch of the stations have been really responsive and started to spin my new single “Sunshine”! Check out the list of radio stations below. If you are in any of these areas, or kind of close, give them a call. Tell them to keep jammin my tunes. You can help spread the word, and keep me going national! Remember that YOU are The Reason Why.

Weird.
Hey Ya’ll,
I am currently in Tampa, Florida. I just woke up to a beautiful sunny day. To bad I have to take a plane right home back to Jersey today. That’s ok though, I had an awesome time yesterday checking out different parts of Tampa. I actually had some weird stuff happen to me yesterday…
I had a gig last night at St Leo University. I needed some gear to play the show because I flew here and I was obviously not able to take mine on the plane. So, I found a place that rented out music equipment in Tampa, Florida. I called them up and order the gear. At first, I could not find the place, because all I saw were houses. Well it turns out…. The equipment was in one of those houses! I’m not against having a business at home by any means, but this place was creepy! Small dirty house, with a junkyard looking lawn, with old kid’s toys lying across the door entrance. I get inside, and there are just broken and old dusty pieces of equipment and wires. Sure enough, on top of all the crap, there was a pile of brand new gear waiting for me to be picked up. I loaded it up and left with no problems. It sure was a relief because I felt like I was about to be in a SAW movie!
That’s the thing with being a traveling musician…. You NEVER know what you’re going to get or whom you are going to meet. But that is the beauty of it and where the excitement lies, besides from actually playing the show itself. Thank you for listening and reading my blogs. Remember, NEW blog every Tuesday and NEW Mumf TV video every Thursday.
Stay Tuned!

New Music - Railbird
Hey Ya’ll,
Check out this band Railbird! They are unbelievable! Jeff Mann (drums) showed me this song below (no one), for the first time a few months ago. I was blown away. This arrangement is incredible! Really cool what they did for the harmonies and melodies in this song. Especially starting at 2:01 , check it out! Another unique and awesome band surfacing in the Music world.
ENJOY,
MUMF
Vermont.
Hey ya’ll,
I’m writing this week’s blog from Barnard, Vermont. You might be asking yourself, “are you playing up there, some sort of festival, or tour?” Nope, I’m just chillin out and enjoying some good ol’ Vermont relaxing time. I come up here from time to time, to escape the headaches of society and enjoy mother nature at its finest.
Fall in Vermont is absolutely amazing. They call it Peak season. When all the leaves start to change, the mountains look absolutely gorgeous. It is amazing how nature can create such beauty with something so simple. I was lucky to get such nice weather while being here. Sunshine, that is warm but breezy and cool at night. Being up in the mountains with no distraction’s is awesome for a song writer. It gives me time to think, write, and be inspired by my surroundings. I am really stoked with the songs that I have been coming up with. I can’t wait to show you guys the finished products. I have also been putting a lot of thought into my clothing company, Lifted Apparel. While walking around Burlington, Vermont yesterday, I got some really cool ideas for some new t-shirts and styles. I am stoked to show you all.
Being up here also gets me really excited for the snowboard season. I am hoping it will be a cold and snowy winter. I want to build some jumps, boxes, and rails for a little snowboard park in my back yard. You can never shred to much! Vermont really is a great place to relax your mind and reconnect with yourself. I recommend everyone come up this way at least once in your life!
Thanks for listening and thanks for being a fan.
Much Love,
MUMF
My New Favorite Band
Hello to the people. I have been listening to a lot of new music to get inspired for a whole new direction for song writing. I wanted to share with you a band that has blown me away. They go by the name of “Rubblebucket”. They are amazing!
These guys are extremely experimental, but in a way that everyone can understand. They bring a whole new dimension when it comes to song writing. Their melodies are strange and unlike anything I have ever heard, but so damn catchy, it amazes me! Their grooves are so funky and rhythmic. It is some serious head bopping music. Rubblebucket has managed to take all of the machines and fake beats away, and still create a perfect dance party at every show. They make a statement for sure. And their live shows… absolutely amazing. I have never danced more, then at a Rubblebucket show, except for, maybe the other times that I have seen Rubblebucket….haha! I posted a video below of their latest single. Check it out and download it! These guys are blowing up fast!
Make sure to check out other exciting news and nonsense from me at twitter.com/quincymumf.
3 years, 300+ shows, and two award-winning albums to his credit, New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Quincy Mumford arrives at the release of his third album, “Speak” with a distinctive, polished musical style all his own.
“What I’ve been focusing on lately, both in the studio and on stage,” Quincy explains, “is highlighting the overall groove that has been building in my music since day one. Whether I’m combining pop, funk, reggae, or surf influences, I want the whole thing to make sense as one recognizable style. Some of my favorite bands⎯ALO, G.Love, Sublime⎯do that really well. I’ve been working really hard at it⎯and I think it’s all coming together on this new record. It’s exciting, upbeat music, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
“Speak” opens with “Rally,” a hard-hitting sing-along that features a clean, clear musical arrangement and a motivational message to live life boldly and rally around those you believe in. Another notable track, “Home,” is Quincy’s most potent tune to date -- a patriotic plea to bring our troops back home (“I pledge my allegiance/I still hope for freedom/I believe in a peaceful country.”).
In addition to his evolution in the studio, Quincy and his live band, The Reason Why, are excited to maintain their tireless performance schedule, which has found them sharing the stage with Ryan Montbleau, Debbie Harry, moe., Donovan Frankenreiter, and Zach Deputy, among many others. The band is looking to continue building this live momentum, whether they’re returning to The Gathering of the Vibes or Musikfest, supporting a band on a national tour, letting loose at hometown gigs, or volunteering their time for The Surfrider Foundation, and/or other environmental causes that Quincy and the band hold close to their collective hearts.
Optimistic, charismatic, and undeniably genuine, Quincy’s music possesses the same “feel good” attitude that the young man himself does. When all is said and done, a focused, inspired Quincy Mumford is an artist to watch in 2011.
