Finally summer is here. I have been waiting for this day for so long!! Although I love the snow, it gets old after a little while, and spring just sucks all together because allergies nearly killed me this year. Summer brings all kinds of good things…. warm weather, beach days, no more thick wetsuits, outdoor shows & festivals, and of coarse awesome summer swells. I can’t wait to get back in the ocean to surf. Of coarse it has been flat lately but hopefully some good waves will come my way soon. I have been meaning to pick up some new music to play in my car. I like to have some new music and artists to play while I’m on the road. I prefer to have something to match my summer mood. Anything with funk, reggae, or hip-hop will do. Any suggestions? I want to hear what’s new out there, and not the lame mainstream pop hits on the radio. I’m talking cds here people. Yes I love the radio, and yes I love my IPod, but as a musician I like to take a new cd and listen to it over and over and over. I like to study each song, break it down from the lyrics to the melody to the beat. I get inspired that way; maybe I am hearing something new musically that will encourage me to try something new. Hell yea for CDs and I think that everyone should still BUY them! The band and I have some pretty awesome shows coming up this summer. Some outside, some inside, some in new cities, and some in new venues. Either way, we are all stoked to be playing all summer long doing what we love. This Saturday we will be jammin outside in the middle of Pier Village in Long Branch right next to the beach all day long. From 3 to 6pm come on by because its awesome and its FREE! The following weekend (June 25th) we will be heading up to Barnard Vermont, to be apart of the Farm to School program, to help raise money to get REAL and FRESH food into the kid’s cafeteria. Pretty rad, right? If you are in central Vermont, make the trip over we are playing 2 sets! The next day we are heading down to Somerville, Boston in Massachusetts. Anyone from Boston?! We are playing at The Precinct at 8pm. Then on July 1st we will be down in Washington DC with our friends from Lucky Dub at the Rock and Roll Hotel around 9pm. It is great to get out of the area and play in new spots, and to meet new people. If anyone is in any of these areas come by to see us play and hang out! Or if you are local, then you can always catch us on Thursday nights for FEEL GOOD THURSAYS @ Jamian’s in Red Bank! Thanks for listening and supporting the music! Keep checking for more dates! Much Love, Q-Mumf
