So some of you might know that I have been on tour this past week by myself. It has been an amazing experience so far, and I wanted to share it with all of you.
I started the tour in East Stroudsburg, PA. I have played at the college ESU a few times, and it is always a good time, this time was no different. Cool spot and cool people for sure. The next day, I backtracked to NYC for an amazing BMI songwriting workshop. I had the opportunity to join this workshop for an 8 week program. At the first class we picked through a bunch of famous tunes and critiqued them. I found out what exactly made these songs so popular and nationally known. I met a lot of other writers with different backgrounds and styles. I can’t wait for next week’s class!
From there, I made my way to Westminster College and Ashland University. Both of these shows were absolutely great. There were large groups of people who came out to both shows and were very attentive. These students listened to everything I had to say, and every message I sang. I had a blast sharing my music with them. I will be back soon guys!
After these few days, I made my way to Chicago to meet up with some friends from The Burrow Four. They gave me a place to crash, and a place to jam! That night I went out to play an open mic. I had a day off from my tour so why not play some more music! The open mic sucked, but I was just stoked to just play some music even if it was to the 80 year old bar tender and 3 other people.
I had a great show today at Aurora University in Illinois! I still have more dates to complete before I head home to Jersey. I love being on the road. It is always a good time with ‘The Reason Why’ but it was really cool to take this tour as a solo artist. A completely different experience musically, and a great learning experience. I learned to never buy baked goods from the Amish or your stomach will explode, never stay at a Budget Inn, and never leave your house without tons of comedy on your ipod. Stoked to get back home and with the band, but I will never forget this trip and all the amazing people I have met along the way!
That’s it for now!
Cheers!
